Scene Review: Fight Scene from "The Pebble and the Penguin"

Hi, I'm the Whatsoever Critic. I review just about anything.

I was watching The Pebble and the Penguin on my mom's DVD player a few weeks ago, and I come across the movie's fight scene.

What would make it better than to talk about the fight scene.
Luckily, I got many requests to do something called a scene review, where you can talk about a scene, and say whether you liked it or not.
Looking back now, I may not have gone in depth with this particular scene in my review of The Pebble and the Penguin. So, today I'm here to bring you two things: an analysis of this fight scene, and then my Top 5 interesting things I found in this scene (by "interesting," I mean awkward and/or worth mentioning).
-And sorry if the DVD Player itself is in some of these pics. I was trying my hardest to get some good quality here.

So first, let's dive into my analysis!

Analysis:

So the scene starts with three kid birds flying to Drake's lair,

because they heard that the villain Drake has kidnapped Marina to be his bride.

Once the young birds get there, they see that Drake is hauling Marina deeper into his lair.

Just then, Hubie (the movie's protagonist) arrives on the scene and challenges Drake to a duel, of which Drake immediately accepts.
So the face-off begins with... Drake picking up his pecs...?
-What guy in their right mind would do that before fighting somebody?

So the two are running towards each other.
-See how Drake is leaning forward while running.

He's trying to Sonic-the-Hedgehog his way into battle.
-Also see how Hubie already has his fists up and towards his opponent. Not the best idea...

-Then we see Drake point his left elbow towards his opponent. He grabs his left wrist to pull his arm back to where the elbow is pointing forward; thus creating a 90-degree angle while he's running. Uh... I have a bad feeling about that...
As you can imagine,

Drake sends Hubie into a pillar,

knocking him out temporarily. For some reason, it takes Hubie a good while to recover from the blow.

After recovering though, Hubie steps up and goes after Drake.
Now here's where the real action happens: if you study the fighting strategies of both characters, you'll definitely know what to expect in this fight. (Now mind you, I'm no martial arts expert, but I've seen this fight scene so many times already, and I've studied many of the moves.)

-Notice that Drake- his choice of attack- uses his fists to attack his opponent and to disintegrate parts of his stairway.

-Notice that Hubie waits until after Drake makes his attack, and then he kicks Drake in the face.
The first kick to the face sends Drake to the foot of the stairs where Marina is standing. Marina tries to flee, but Drake grabs her by her ankle and tries to pull her to him.
Hubie steps in and bites Drake's foot.

-LOL. Drake's reaction to Hubie biting his foot... Hey! I can do that too!

You see?
So the fight continues. Drake is having more misses, while Hubie always meets his target. Drake, at one point, lunges at Hubie,

but Hubie delivers a powerful punch

and sends his opponent falling from the stairs with a final kick to the chest.

After that, we see Hubie and Marina reunite with each other, and then Hubie and Rocko reuniting with each other, and then...
-Somebody must have said "Deus ex machina" or something...

...because Drake ends up returning, even though he looks banged up, and his cape is all ripped to shreds. He throws a giant boulder at our heroes, causing the entire lair to collapse. And Drake dies. How?

Death by rocks crushing him... even though they don't show blood- that's a really hard way to go.

Now for my analysis...
This fight scene was very brief. However, it still provided some good action.

Now, as promised, I will give you my Top 5 interesting things in this fight scene. Before we start, I want to say that unlike my other Top 10 (or other number) lists, this one will be brief, because we've already covered some stuff. So let's get started.

5. How did Hubie get way up there on top of the tower?!

4. Drake's brute strength

3. The fight scene doesn't exceed one minute. (at least 43 seconds- I timed)

2. Marina doesn't run away when she needs to!

1. Like I said before, what guy in their right mind would pick up their pecs before a fight?

Well, I hoped you enjoyed this first-ever scene review. Stay tuned for a scene review for a certain scene in LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed... COMING SOON!
-Yeah! Watch me do a scene review on LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed! This one on this fight scene was hard, because it was awkward!
