Top 5 "Rising Star" Performers on Week 7

Hi, I'm the Whatsoever Critic. I review just about anything.

Well, last night (8/3/14) was Week 7 of Rising Star, in which 13 singers perform, and 7 move onto the "Quarter Finals," plus 1 singer that gets saved by West Coast. And since eliminations took place on the show last night, I felt that it's a civic duty for me to honor those that were eliminated- whether I was for it or against it.
But before I do that, I'd like to give a shout-out to Dana Williams. I was nervous for her, because I felt that she gave us a good performance. I mean, a 60% from the East Coast? Seriously? I felt like she did way better than that. Anyway, the West Coast eventually saved her from elimination, which was a good thing. Good job, Dana!

Now, here are my Top 5 Rising Star Performers that were eliminated on Week 7, but deserve mentioning!

5. Alice J. Lee

Like I said before, I felt that Alice tried too hard in her performances. Not that she's a bad singer- she has talent. It's just that in most of her performances, I don't always feel it- I don't feel what anyone else is feeling. It doesn't matter if it's the song choice or if there were just minimal mistakes- I just didn't feel anything, compared to the other performers. In fact, I think that's what worked against Alice, because people know that she's got it in her to give us a good performance, but the delivery was either forced or she didn't really give it her all...
-In other words, people may have been split down the middle when giving a consensus for this performance.
Either way, Alice will keep trying to fulfill her dreams of becoming a singer. So, there's a possibility that she'll make a comeback.

4. Megan Tibbits

I was like "No, no, no, no, no!" when Megan gave us her performance. The reason why I was like that was because in her first two performances, she gave us powerful performances. Here, this was another version of the William-Roth-Wrecking-Ball bombshell. I mean, think about it: a singer, who wowed us with great renditions, all of a sudden makes a wrong song choice and suffers the consequences (elimination on the spot).
I was shocked by all this. I mean, it was a gutsy move, but too risky. Although it was risky, I still honor Megan for her bravery.

3. Sonnet Simmons

Sonnet was one of my favorite voices to listen to. It was a shame that she was eliminated last night. I mean, what was wrong with everyone? A 30%? Really? Was that any way to end the night? I'm not even kidding- Sonnet was the last performer to sing in last night's episode, and the majority of voters had the audacity to vote "No"?
I'm sorry. I felt that that was unfair to Sonnet. She was awesome.

2. Lisa Punch

The show called her a "powerhouse" singer at the beginning of the series. And now she was brought down low by elimination? That was unexpected.
Lisa had people behind her, even getting all three experts to vote "Yes" on her performance. However, a 59% wasn't enough to save her from elimination. She was so close to making the next round!
Anyway, Lisa would be missed. However, I have a feeling that she may come back into the music world. Who knows?

1. Macy Kate

You may remember Macy as the girl that was picked out of the audience on opening night to sing in front of everyone- the Instagram winner that was chosen off of social media to perform for us. In the beginning, she wowed us by her renditions. However, her rendition of a song from P!nk may have been her downfall. In fact, she was in the show's Hot Seat for a long time with her 60% score, until Audrey Kate Geiger swooped past her with a 65%, knocking her out of the competition.
I was hoping that the West Coast would save her, but to no avail. Either way, I know this isn't over for Macy Kate. I know that she can pick herself back up, dust herself off, and keeping pursuing her dreams. We sure hope for the best.

And that was Top 5 list! I hope you enjoyed it; and I'll be sure to keep you posted on both Rising Star and The Quest from ABC.
