"Fazbear and Friends" Youtube Video Review

Hi, I'm the Whatsoever Critic. I review just about anything.

Today we'll be reviewing a Youtube video...
-ANOTHER YOUTUBE VIDEO? WHY NOT REAL MOVIES AND SHOWS THIS TIME?
Well, something you should know is that Youtube is home to viral videos and stuff like that. Youtube has pretty good videos like the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared series (one of my all-time favorites), Let's Plays, reaction videos, etc. But like Cyanide and Happiness, there's a good video, a bad video, and a video that's in-between.
So let's say I'm a big fan of Five Nights at Freddy's (which I am in real-life). I look through Youtube and find videos based on that series. I would come across parodies, Let's Plays, fan-made trailers and games...
-Ugh! Damn those fan-made trailers and games. They only lead to conspiracy and false advertising.
But for every lame parody of Five Nights at Freddy's, there are also good parodies. Case in point: Fazbear and Friends.

This Youtube video, uploaded by Youtube user hotdiggedydemon, is about a month old now, and yet it's getting plenty of attention when it comes to reaction videos. And yes, I myself did a react video on this viral video, so I'll leave you a link to my react video below:

FAZBEAR AND FRIENDS- WC Reacts!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mStpcIdxZhA

However, after much debate, I figured that this video parody was worth reviewing, because of its dark humor and storyline. This is Fazbear and Friends.

Opening Scene:

So the video starts with a shot of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza during a rainy night. And then we cut to our main characters: Freddy Fazbear himself, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate Fox.

Chica: "Hope y'all are hungry, 'cuz dinner is served!"
Foxy: "Oh, great. Pizza again."
(Foxy shoots a look of unimpressed)
-First of all, look at the animation. This Youtuber must be a cartoonist or something, because the animation is really good. Plus, it makes sense to animate this story. While fan-made FNaF videos are being made with live-action that's no better than the Paranormal Activity movies, here, we see that this person has put a lot of effort into the video with great animation.

Anyway, back to the story:

Bonnie goes on to tell Freddy and the crew about the security camera watching them.
Bonnie: "Look! We're on TV!"
-(giggling) Betcha that's Goofy voicing this bunny... They both sound alike.
Freddy: "Doh, you silly rabbit! We're not on television. That's a security camera."
Chica: "But that does mean someone's watching us, right?"
-Is it weird to say that most of these characters have country-western accents? IDK.
Then Bonnie wonders if the person in the security room would like to mingle with them, and Freddy is obviously delighted to give it a try.

Freddy: "Fazbear and his crew are always up for making new friends!"
Foxy: "New friends? Ugh! Pass!"

-Geez, Foxy! Lighten up! I didn't expect this interpretation of Five Nights at Freddy's to be this much of a buzzkill!
So the friends go off to see the security guard...

-Hi, why is Bonnie giving Freddy a piggy-back ride?
...as Foxy has to be literally dragged off his ass to go see the person.

A random title card later...:

We see Freddy and his gang approach the security room, and they see a security guard

(who's supposed to represent Mike Schmidt from the video game). The animatronics decide to give him a warm welcome with what else?
Chica: "Do you think he likes pizza?"
-Um, try giving the man a call before showing up unpresided at his office... Then again, yeah, order a pizza while you're at it. I mean, who doesn't love pizza?

So Bonnie taps on the window to get the security guard's attention. But the guard sees not a cute bunny...

but a scary animatronic coming to scare him; and he immediately locks the doors.

-Wow. This guy must be on drugs or something, because he looks like crap with the baggy eyes and the dilated pupils. Yeah, I can totally see a lot of memes for this scene:

1. "Mike Schmidt: Someone must really need a job..."

2. "Mike Schmidt: This is why security guards shouldn't do drugs."

3. "Five Nights at Freddy's: It makes a person fear Chuck E. Cheese."
So, seeing that the security guard is afraid of them and that he locked them out...
Foxy: "Oh well. We tried. (giggling)"

-Really, Foxy? This cartoon is making Foxy look like a jerk.

But Freddy comes swinging with an ax as an attempt to break down the door...
-Yeah, it's The Shining all over again. (sarcasm) Stephen King would be so proud...
-By the way, Foxy smokes? He's a robot. He doesn't have lungs to damage.

Freddy: "Excuse me, sir? Would y'all like some company in there?"
Chica: "Ask him if he likes pizza."
-Wow. A pizza party inside an office would be great. Who doesn't like office pizza parties?

Freddy opens the door only to find that the security guard had already headed for the bricks. Freddy plans that the team split up in duos to find Mike, and he makes a promise to his friends.

Freddy: "We'll find this man; and as the Lord as my witness, before this night is over, I will make a friend!"
-Yep, that would be the motivation for this story is to make a friend. Whatever.

The east hall:
We then see Chica and Foxy walking down the hall in search for Mike Schmidt. But Foxy... clearly out of nowhere... has other plans.

Foxy: "...I was feelin' kinda hungry for something else..."
-Okay, what is this?

Chica: "Wait! I can't. You know my heart belongs to Freddy..."
-Love triangle, anyone?
-This had to have come from reading too many FNaF fanfiction.
Foxy: "Oh, please! That egotistical fur-ball will never notice you the way I do."
(Chica and Foxy kissing)

-Yep. This guy reads too many fanfiction. (Meanwhile, I'm reading LarryBoy fanfiction...)
Chica: "But Foxy, what if the man finds us?"
But Foxy shows us that he doesn't care about the current situation, but only cares about unbuttoning Chica's bib to...

-(pause) Why is this like any other scary movie where two people are making advances toward each other, and then something goes horribly wrong?

And of course, things go wrong when Mike comes out of nowhere with a shovel.

(Foxy's jumpscare)

As Foxy takes a blow from the shovel, Chica runs to his aid.
Foxy: "My only regret... (ZAP!) is not getting... (ZAP) to second base."
-Really? You're in a life-or-death situation, and yet you're concerned about not getting to second base?
So Chica confronts Mike...

-...and man! She has pizza for boobs?! But hey. I thought Foxy was tired of pizza like he said before in the opening scene. So why now had he changed his mind? I'm thinking when he took off Chica's bib, it changed his tune. IDK.
Chica wants to show Mike that there's nothing to be scared of, and that she's looking to be friends; but the bastard hits her with the shovel as well.
-Uh... no comment.

Dining area:

Now we see Freddy with a flashlight as he searches for Bonnie...
(Freddy's weird expression as he steps on something)

-Um... (pause)

THE AWKWARD FACE MOMENT!!!
Freddy sees that he's stepped on... Bonnie's butt?

-I don't get it. Is Bonnie torn apart somewhere in the restaurant?
-And I can also see some memes for this scene as well...

1. "Freddy Fazbear: He can be a pain in the butt, come Nights 3-5 in FNaF 1."

2. "Five Nights at Freddy's: Telling the fan-made trailers, movies, and games to stick it."
And, of course, we see Bonnie taken apart; and Freddy is devastated by the sight of his friend.

Bonnie: "Sorry for fallin' apart on you, Freddy. He he. I guess you could say I'm gonna rest in pieces..."
-Really? At a time like this you would make jokes?
So as Bonnie passes on, Freddy makes a vow.
Freddy: "Don't worry, Bon. I swear to you I'll find whoever did this...AND I WILL MAKE THAT PERSON MY FRIEND!"
-Yep. That seems to be the ultimate quest for this animatronic bear, is to make a friend. Really?

Just then, Freddy is confronted by Mike. Freddy finds this as an opportunity to get revenge... and friendship.
(lighting up and summoning cupcakes out of nowhere)

Freddy: "Prepare your backside for friendship, you shadowy-shovel-wielding-shameless-sick-sinister-son-of-a-siamese-salamander."
(Mike charging for Freddy; Freddy doing likewise)

-(mimicking Mike Schmidt) Glowy-faced security guard, away!

-(mimicking Freddy) Wannabe-Chuck E. Cheese, to the rescue!

(the two almost colliding until...)

The next day...:

-Wait a minute, what?! That was the epic fight scene?! Well, I guess it's 6 AM already for Mike Schmidt...

But no, Freddy and Mike are having a conversation about Freddy's origin...
Freddy: "You're sayin' I am not a bipedal brown bear blessed with human cognitive thought and speech, but rather, an animatronic puppet built by a pizzeria chain, and given unholy life by the restless spirit of a child murdered in the '80s?"
Mike: "Yes, that's basically the long-short of it?"
-Seriously, Mike. Why haven't you left the place yet?

Then Mike shows Freddy his reflection, and Freddy is shocked to see that he is a robot. This causes the two characters to make amends.
Freddy: "I'm powerful sorry if I scared you."
Mike: "No problem. I'm sorry I took all your friends apart."
-Yeah, about that. Taking animatronics part was not in your job description as a security guard... unless this was a parody of the custom night level in Five Nights at Freddy's (the first game), where the player gets fired for "tampering with animatronics."

Now, after being asked on what he was going to do about being a robot for a pizzeria chain, Freddy sees that the future is bright for him. I mean, really! Get a load of this:

Freddy: "Well, the way I figure, the only thing I've ever wanted to do in this world is entertain children. And if you ask me, finding out that I'm a robot built for this specific purpose of entertaining children doesn't change a thing. If anything, it gives me more assurance than most people will ever get that what I'm doing is worthwhile. And I have you to thank for that, Mike."

-This bear is so outgoing. I wish every motivational speech had this much outgoing-ness as this one.
-Plus, I can totally see Veggietales taking a stab at this story, and finding some kind of moral for it...

(mimicking Veggietales)
Now kids, it's time to talk about what we've learned today. The moral of the story is to keep your friends close... even though your girlfriend may been cheating on you with a fan-favorite; and she has pizza boobs... And another moral of the story is to make people your friend... even though you nearly gave that guy a heartache for stalking him and breaking down his door not too long ago... (pause) Yeah, uh... who's to say that friendships are dangerous? Well, that's the lesson for today, kids. Now, if y'all excuse us... we have to get back to writing horrendous episodes for Veggietales In The House...

Anyway, Freddy shows Mike to the parts and services room, where there are many Freddy Fazbear heads.

-(pause) Why would you do that, Freddy?
Freddy: "It's Fazbear Pizza policy that all endoskeletons remain in costume at all times, as to not scare the kids. You're new here, so I know you didn't know, but we're gonna have to get you in one ASAP."
Mike is shocked by this, and can't help but ask Freddy about his logic.
Mike: "Freddy, you know I'm not an endoskeleton, right?"
Freddy: "Doh! You can't lie to me! I know an endoskeleton when I see one!"
-Okay, we all know what's coming. Freddy is gonna stuff Mike into an animatronic suit... THUS CREATING SPRINGTRAP! (Just kidding... but he's still gonna Mike into a suit.)

Freddy: "I'm sorry, Mike. It's just policy."
(the door closes)
-Okay, that definitely took a turn for the worst.

And that's Fazbear and Friends. Now, I'm not gonna lie... this was awesome.
Now, to be fair, the humor can be rude and shocking, but the shock value seems to work to the story's advantage. And like I said before, this was supposed to be a parody of Five Nights at Freddy's, which is understandable.
Furthermore, the voice-acting was spot-on; the writing was sophisticated and it makes sense; and, like I said before, the animation is great. Though some of the content may not be for kids, it's not as offensive as I thought it was going to be, seeing that the thumbnail for this video was Chica with a censor bar on her chest, and Freddy Fazbear wearing sunglasses.
For what it is, it's a great parody. I wonder if Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy's, saw this video. And I wonder what Scott thought of that video.
